Just in case you know of or will run into someone you know that hasn’t taken the Census,
bitchslap them
tell them it ends TOMORROW and to take out their phone immediately and do it online because it will take less time to finish than a lunch break.
At least they are giving everyone until the literal end of the day in Hawaii:
“Hours after the ruling was released, the U.S. Census Bureau !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! it will keep accepting responses !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! through Oct. 15 until 11:59 p.m. Hawaii time. The bureau has also set Oct. 15 as the postmark deadline for paper forms as well as the end date for collecting phone responses and door knocking at unresponsive households.”

A nice lady came to our house and interviewed us way back in the pre-covid days. I felt I should have offered her tea and cookies, but she was too efficient for that.

Things may have changed, but as of late last month a September 30th cutoff was expected to actually hurt red-states more than blue states due to different levels of progress in counting:

I guess we’ll see how much those extra two weeks helped. I am more worried about what bullshit the administration might be planning regarding not counting undocumented immigrants. They’ve signaled they want to exclude them, which is problematic both because that’s not what the constitution specifies, but also because given that they were not allowed to add a question about immigration status, any adjustments to the counts would be at best guesses, and probably fabrications designed to hurt political opponents. I’d like to think the courts would contain them, but Trump has done a pretty good job stacking the courts.

Considering how long people have already had to do it , I don’t know how much difference it makes to change the cutoff point for online census responses in either direction now .
Census r esponse rates in my region are not great, and I really don’t know what the cause is . They might have better luck if they limited the census form to one question: “How many people are in this household? ” Maybe have an optional question about children vs adults to help with public school planning .

It’s not that long, but it’s not much more that you can do other than shame them publicly . Because if they can’t be bothered to do an online Census, I doubt that they would care enough to vote. And I don’t associate with people that don’t vote.

TBH My brain doesn’t even recognize or register census signs because they look political. Only just now am i like. Wait..... what? I totally missed it.

Stop talking, login and fill it out right now. If it's just you, you should be finished in less than 10 minutes.
